Homey’s Adventures Too – Chapter 28 – Bad News Good News 

First and foremost, thank you to all who have read my past blog posts and my book, “Homey’s Adventures.” 

I debated with myself to discontinue posting my new book because of the war in Ukraine. I decided to continue posting the remaining chapters of my book. The war in Ukraine is about hate. The agents of the devil are seeking to establish darkness over this country. My book is about true love. By loving God and his children, we will defeat hate and indifference. My heart goes out to all Ukrainians. I pray the light of Jesus defeats the darkness and brings love and peace to Ukraine. 

As promised, I am continuing the series of all the chapters of my new book, “Homey’s Adventures Too.” I am now 71 and I decided that I did not want to spend my time haggling with editors, literary agents, and publishers. The main thing I am interested in is to write for your pleasure and mine. So, without further delay, here is Chapter 28: 

Chapter 28- Bad News Good News 

A natural conclusion to this book is to describe the actual first date. I promise you, my reader, we are almost there. The bad news is that my sister-in law died 3 months after my mom died, and I needed to go to Florida and comfort my brother. He faced the death of his mother and the death of his wife sooner than anybody should. I cannot tell you, my reader, about all the grief that surrounded this because I am for a loss of words in this circumstance. 

I can tell you that she died of Covid 19, and she contacted the disease while she was in the hospital. She went to the hospital because of a stroke caused by her COPD. She never came out of the hospital. I could hate the Chinese communists for releasing this awful disease on the world. I could hate the caregivers for spreading it to my mother, my best friend, and my sister-in-law and because they did not seem to have a clue on how to stop it from killing the in firmed and aged. The Jim part of me knows that hate only satisfies the evil one. It will give me no satisfaction. 

Instead, I turned to Xena to help me with my Monday blog and with the grace of God in her heart, here is what she wrote: 

 People are the main and integral part of our life, you are my person, you give me new emotions, dreams of goals and new ideas, you give me a breath of air, the desire to wake up and smile at this sad gray world without you, yes, I think that my world is empty without you, you fill it, you make it bright, I wake up every day with thoughts of you, when we don’t communicate for a long time, I don’t stop thinking about you for a second, and when I think about you I smile, there are not enough words for light to describe my feelings for you, as if I have wings. I want to thank you for every moment and for our acquaintance. I love you. 

I have tried to describe her to you, my readers using movie characters Xena and Wonder Woman. I know now this comparison is inadequate. I also know that I will never love any person more than I do her and this is my good news. Xena puts love in my heart where there could be only hate. God has blessed me by knowing this woman.
