Forever in Blue Jeans

First and foremost, thank you to all who have read my blog post and my book, “Homey’s Adventures.”

If you are like me, you frequently wake up with a song rattling around in your head. I never know why these songs come to mind. Today, it was Niel Diamond’s “Forever in Blue Jeans.” Here are the lyrics:

Money talks
But it don’t sing and dance
And it don’t walk
Long as I can have you
Here with me, I’d much rather be
Forever in blue jeans

Honey’s sweet
But it ain’t nothin’ next to baby’s treat
And if you pardon me
I’d like to say
We do okay
Forever in blue jeans

Maybe tonight
Maybe tonight by the fire
All alone you and I

Nothing around
But the sound of my heart
And your sighs

Money talks
But it can’t sing and dance
And it can’t walk
And long as I can have you
Here with me, I’d much rather be
Forever in blue jeans, babe

And honey’s sweet
But it ain’t nothin’ next to baby’s treat
And if you pardon me, I’d like to say
We do okay
Forever in blue jeans

Maybe tonight
Maybe tonight by the fire
All alone you and I
Nothing around
But the sound of my heart
And your sighs

There money talks
But it can’t sing and dance
And it don’t walk
Long as I can have you
Here with me
I’d much rather be
Forever in blue jeans

And long as I can have you
Here with me I’d much rather be
Forever in blue jeans, babe

And long as I can have you
Here with me I’d much rather be
Forever in blue jeans, babe

The Homey’s Adventures brand is all about love and all kinds of love. “Forever in Blue Jeans” is a love song where love is preferred over money. Just maybe that is why it got stuck in my mind this morning. I have dedicated the rest of my life to loving others as I do myself. In my pursuit of this, I have gone from having over a million dollars in assets to little money now. To be honest, I do not care. Money cannot sing and dance and it cannot walk.

In Luke 20:21: So, Jesus told them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” The background of this is when Jesus was asked about Roman taxes. A large amount of my wealth has gone to taxes. God is love and I want to do what God wants me to do. God commands to love him first and his children second. In fact, I believe that money and true love do not mix that well.

The Apostle Mathew tells us: “No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. The Apostle John tells us: God Is Love. Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.

The Beetles wrote a song entitled “All You Need Is Love.” Here are the lyrics:

Love, love, love
Love, love, love
Love, love, love

(Love, love, love)
There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done
(Love, love, love)
Nothing you can sing that can’t be sung
(Love, love, love)
Nothing you can say
But you can learn how to play the game
It’s easy

(Love, love, love)
Nothing you can make that can’t be made
(Love, love, love)
No one you can save that can’t be saved
(Love, love, love)
Nothing you can do
But you can learn how to be you in time
It’s easy

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

(Love, love, love)
(Love, love, love)
(Love, love, love)

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

(Love, love, love)
Nothing you can know that isn’t known
(Love, love, love)
Nothing you can see that isn’t shown
(Love, love, love)
There’s nowhere you can be
That isn’t where you’re meant to be
It’s easy

All you need is love
All you need is love
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

All you need is love (All together now)
All you need is love (Everybody)
All you need is love, love
Love is all you need

Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)
Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)
Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)
Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)

Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)
Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)
Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)
Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)

Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)
Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)
Love is all you need
(Love is all you need)
(Love is all you need)
(Love is all you need)

(Love is all you need) Yesterday
(Love is all you need) Oh, love is all you need
Love is all you need (Oh yeah)
Love is all you need (She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah)
(Love is all you need)
(Love is all you need)

“All You Need Is Love” is a song written by John Lennon and credited to Lennon/McCartney. It was first performed on Our World, the first live global television program. It was ranked as number 362 on Rolling Stones’ list of the 500 greatest songs of all time. Lennon once said he was bigger than God, but he later apologized for the statement. I think he did realize the truth that God is love. I heard Paul McCartney brag about most of the Beetles songs were about love.

I wear khakis more than I wear blue jeans, but I want you all to know that I love you. If you want, let me know what songs get stuck in your head. If you haven’t heard this Niel Diamond song, I encourage you to listen it
