First and foremost, thank you to all who have read my blogs and my book, “Homeys Adventures”.
I have had a lot of time to think about death lately. My mom died last December. My sister-in-law died in February and my ex-father-in-law died last Saturday. I love all of them very much.
As a Christian, I don’t believe death is final. We only spend part of our lives in this world. We then spend eternity at the right-hand side of Jesus. I sometimes wonder how we can all fit there, but I believe God can do anything and has done everything.
I just got back from my sister-in-law’s funeral in Florida and what struck me most was that her love resulted in so many beautiful people being born. She had 5 children, 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. I had the privilege and pleasure of meeting some of them for the first time. Yes, my brother is very blessed with a large and beautiful family.
My brother had 3 girls and I had one girl. My brother is named Andrew and that name has been in the family for many generations. My father was also Andy. One of my brother’s grandchildren has Andrew for his middle name. I latched on to young Andrew because even though he died in 1984, I still miss my father and I want his legacy to continue.
I have plans to write a book honoring my father. During World War II, he saved the lives of his fellow crewman and received an air medal. I would like to meet the descendants of the men he saved and write about my adventures of these meetings.
Yes, I mourn the death of my loved ones who have died recently. I am also filled with love for my family who is still alive.
